Touch Pool Sessions

Not to be missed, get your hands wet during these close encounters with creatures from beneath the waves and learn about their fascinating lives.

 

When: 10.00, 12.00, 2.00, 4.00 daily (Jul/Aug, daily on the hour)

Feeding Time* - Join us after hours at the aquarium to feed our creatures. Sunday 26thth and Tuesday 28th May, and Sunday 2nd June, 5pm. £3

Face paint Fun - Saturday 25th, Wednesday 29th, and Friday 31st May 2.30pm, £2

Movie Madness* - Finding Nemo on Saturday 25th and Finding Dory on Sunday 26th at 1.30pm, £2pp. Jungle Book 3D on Thursday 30th at 1.30pm, £3pp. Despicable Me on Saturday 1st June at 1.30pm, £2pp.

Kids Club* - Jellyfish Appreciation Afternoon, Monday 27th, 1.30 - 4pm, £15

Touchpools Go Hi-Tech

Come and discover the hidden world of our Touchpools. We'll have all the Hi-Tech gadgets out so you can gaze into a scallops eyes, get up close and personal with a starfish sticky tube feet and so much more.

The Big Draw

This October take part in the Big Draw Festival and have fun painting and drawing in the aquarium.

 

We can announce this years theme is 'Drawn to Life'. A full programme of events will be available in due course.

 

Time: 10am - 4.0pm

When: 1st October - 25th October.

Price: Various 

Release Day !

Join us for our last day of the season as we put all of the creatures back to sea.
Book on to join a boat release, or release from the shore.
Quote your season pass number for early bird booking aboard the first boat.

National Marine Week

It's National Marine Week (5th - 11th August)

Uncover the magic of the ocean with a whole week of marine themed events! Meet experts from the world of marine bioscience, take part in interactive workshops, or have fun making marine crafts!

A Night for the BIG KIDS: Jaws

For one night only we are bringing the BIG kids after-hours entertainment at the Aquarium. With tasty treats and boozy tipples, touch pools (without the kids) and the classic film JAWS, it is set to be a fantastic night.

 

Time: 7.00pm - 10.00pm

When: Friday 6th October 2017

Cost: £12 per person, Please contact us via facebook, before 8pm on the 5th to book.

 

*Spaces are very limited so booking is essential. 

Art at the Aquarium

Visit the Aquarium after hours and get your craft on!

From painting to patchwork, all abilities and ages are welcome.

Bring your own materials and use the space for free.

 

When: Wednesdays 10th, 17th & 24th October

Time: 6.30pm - 8.30pm

Cost: FREE when you bring your own materials. Small charge if aquarium materials required.

Ocean Explorer Afternoon

Children will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in our aquarium world for the afternoon. These marine themed education discovery days are packed full of fun activities and hands on learning for children age 7+.

 

Behind the Shadows

As part of our big draw celebrations join us for a kids only shadow puppet workshop. Create and design your own moving puppets
before telling the story of our favourite ocean tale at the shadow puppet theatre. 

 

When: Friday 13th October

Time: 1.30pm - 4.00pm

Permission forms will be sent out upon booking, please complete and send back to us or bring it on the day. Our qualified aquarium team have many years experience working with children in environmental education and are first aid trained. The Big Aquarium Sleepover

For one night only explore the aquarium after dark and join us for the Big Aquarium Sleepover. Bring your friends and join in with behind the scenes activities, watch a 3D film, munch on midnight snacks and more. 

 

Time: 7pm - 8am

When: Friday 20th October

Age: 7+

Cost: £40 per child - to Book click here

 

Booking and payment by the 18th Oct is essential. Spaces are limited and this event maybe cancelled if we do not reach minimum numbers. In this case a full refund will be given. Further details on what to bring and permission slips will be sent out upon booking.

The Curse of the Draug

As dusk falls over Tobermory the awakening begins. Lost fishermen crawl from the depths to claim innocent souls, but can you break the curse and escape in time....

Halloween Fun and Games

Join in the Halloween fun with monster hoopla to pin the tentacle on the octopus. There will be plenty of games to keep the little ones entertained and of course plenty of prizes to be won.

 

Time: 10.30am - 12noon (Drop in anytime)

When: 28th October

Cost: 5 tickets for £2 (one ticket per game)

Children will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in our aquarium world through a combination of hands on indoor and outdoor activities, scientific exploration, and even behind the scenes adventures. These marine themed education discovery days are packed full of fun activities and hands on learning for children age 7 -12.

Rockpool Ramble

Enjoy a journey of discovery along the seashore. See the weird and wonderful animals and plants found in the intertidal rock pools that are revealed at low tide and discover how they live, love and do lunch in this incredible and unique habitat.

When: 25th July, 23rd August

Meeting Point: Calgary Beach Car Park

Cost £3.00 (Season pass holders £2.00)

 

Please note: Spaces are limited, booking essential. Children must be accompanied by full a paying adult. Please wear suitable clothing and footwear, Wellies recommended.
