Not to be missed, get your hands wet during these close encounters with creatures from beneath the waves and learn about their fascinating lives.

Get Crafty - Different crafts each day, drop in anytime. Prices vary

Feeding Time* - Join us after hours at the aquarium to feed our creatures. Tuesdays and Sundays @ 5pm. £3pp

Face Paint Fridays - Have your face painted with your favourite sea creature. 2.30 every Friday. £1.50

International Coffee Day - Come and join the team at Mull Aquarium to raise money for MacMillan Cancer Support and to celebrate International Coffee Day! 50% of your ticket price goes to MacMillan or bring your reuseable cup and grab a takeaway coffee. 1st October, 10am-12noon

International Cephalopod Awareness Day - Octopus Dissection, free, 1.30pm, 9th October

October Art Month

Our full programme of events is listed below.


  • Drawn to Scale - design and colour a beautiful scale to add to our window murals and decorate the aquarium floor by challenging yourself to draw some of our amazing creatures to scale. 
  • Doodlethon - visit the aquarium and doodle away, add to our giant doodle mural. Daily, Free
  • COMPETITION TIME - Design a sea creature pin badge (max 3 colours). Send or bring your designs into the aquarium and the winning design will be made and into a real pin badge! Which will be on sale to the public in 2020. Please make sure you include your name and contact details on your entry. The competition will run from 1st - 31st October. The winner will be announced first week in November. The winning design may be subject to modification to enable manufacture. The aquarium will own all rights to the selected design. The winner will also receive 5 complimentary badges of their design. Good Luck!
  • Ocean Discovery Day - Kids Club*

         Spiraling Seas and Creative Currents - Monday 7th October, 9.30 am-             12.00noon

  • Resin Jewellery Workshop *
    Join one of our workshop and create beautiful jewellery or keyrings using shells, flowers and more. You can bring your own treasures to set in resin or use some of the pieces provided.

Release Day !

Join us for our last day of the season as we put all of the creatures back to sea.

If you would like to release a creature from the boat....

-  Early bird booking for season pass holders opens on the 21st October at 10am. Please quote name, season pass number and number of Adult/child places you require. (Max 5 places per Family season pass)

- Non season pass holders are able to book from the 22nd October at 10am. Please tell us the number of adults/child spaces you require.


Places are given out on a first come first served basis. FULLY BOOKED

Halloween - Legends of the Lake

Join us for a haunted walk around Aros Park and discover the legends of the lake.


Meet at the main carpark for Aros Park. Age 7-11 (6.15pm) & age 12+ (7.00pm). £5pp.

Children must be accompanied an adult.

A Night for the BIG KIDS: Jaws

For one night only we are bringing the BIG kids after-hours entertainment at the Aquarium. With tasty treats and boozy tipples, touch pools (without the kids) and the classic film JAWS, it is set to be a fantastic night.


Time: 7.00pm - 10.00pm

When: Friday 6th October 2017

Cost: £12 per person, Please contact us via facebook, before 8pm on the 5th to book.

Art at the Aquarium

Visit the Aquarium after hours and get your craft on!

From painting to patchwork, all abilities and ages are welcome.

Bring your own materials and use the space for free.


When: Wednesdays 10th, 17th & 24th October

Time: 6.30pm - 8.30pm

Cost: FREE when you bring your own materials. Small charge if aquarium materials required.

Ocean Explorer Afternoon

Children will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in our aquarium world for the afternoon. These marine themed education discovery days are packed full of fun activities and hands on learning for children age 7+.


Behind the Shadows

As part of our big draw celebrations join us for a kids only shadow puppet workshop. Create and design your own moving puppets
before telling the story of our favourite ocean tale at the shadow puppet theatre.

Our qualified aquarium team have many years experience working with children in environmental education and are first aid trained. The Big Aquarium Sleepover

For one night only explore the aquarium after dark and join us for the Big Aquarium Sleepover. Bring your friends and join in with behind the scenes activities, watch a 3D film, munch on midnight snacks and more. 


Time: 7pm - 8am

When: Friday 20th October

Age: 7+

Cost: £40 per child - to Book click here


Booking and payment by the 18th Oct is essential. Spaces are limited and this event maybe cancelled if we do not reach minimum numbers. In this case a full refund will be given. Further details on what to bring and permission slips will be sent out upon booking.

The Curse of the Draug

As dusk falls over Tobermory the awakening begins. Lost fishermen crawl from the depths to claim innocent souls, but can you break the curse and escape in time....

Halloween Fun and Games

Join in the Halloween fun with monster hoopla to pin the tentacle on the octopus. There will be plenty of games to keep the little ones entertained and of course plenty of prizes to be won.

Cost: 5 tickets for £2 (one ticket per game)

Rockpool Ramble

Enjoy a journey of discovery along the seashore. See the weird and wonderful animals and plants found in the intertidal rock pools that are revealed at low tide and discover how they live, love and do lunch in this incredible and unique habitat.

Meeting Point: Calgary Beach Car Park
