Origami Week

Come along and make ocean origami every day this week! Learn a new marine creature at our workshops every day this week for our exhibition at An Tobar.

 

Time: Workshops everyday 3.00 - 4.30pm

Cost: £2 for your origami pack

Ocean Discovery Days 

Children will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in our aquarium world through a combination of hands on indoor and outdoor activities, scientific exploration, and even behind the scenes adventures. These marine themed education discovery days are packed full of fun activities and hands on learning for children age 7 -12.

 

4th July - Fantastic Fossils and Legends of the Deep

12th July - Plundering Pirates and the Lost Treasure

14th August - Light, Camera, Action

National Marine Week

It's National Marine Week (31st July - 6th Aug 2017)

Uncover the magic of the ocean with a whole week of marine themed events! Meet experts from the world of marine bioscience, take part in interactive workshops, or have fun making marine crafts!

Rockpool Ramble

Enjoy a journey of discovery along the seashore. See the weird and wonderful animals and plants found in the intertidal rock pools that are revealed at low tide and discover how they live, love and do lunch in this incredible and unique habitat.

Touch Pool Sessions

Not to be missed, get your hands wet during these close encounters with creatures from beneath the waves and learn about their fascinating lives.

 

When: 10.00, 12.00, 2.00, 4.00 daily (Jul/Aug, daily on the hour)

Cost: FREE with entry to the aquarium

Petri Dish Safari

As a follow on to our famous touch pools, join us for an interactive discovery session exploring a microscopic world. Get up close to these amazing creatures with our microscopes and techy gadgets and discover a whole new world in our oceans.

 

Time: 1.30pm

When: Mondays + Wednesdays July/Aug

Cost: FREE with entry to the aquarium

Feeding Time

Join us after hours for our exclusive feeding time. Discover who eats who and hand feed our creatures, while you are guided around the aquarium.

 

Time: 5.00pm

When: Tuesdays + Sundays July/Aug

Cost: £3.00 per person 

Booking advised, spaces limited

 

*Children must be accompanied by a full paying adult. This ticket does not entitle you to aquarium entry prior to 5pm.

Movie Time

Sit back and relax on a rainy day in our cinema room complete with comfortable beanbags, sofas, surround sound and 3D capability. A selection of films will be shown weekly. For up to date information on upcoming films please join our Facebook group -Cinema at the aquarium

Aqua Tots

Come on an adventure to explorer underwater worlds at our new Aqua Tots sessions for 5's and under. Discover amazing creatures through our sensory sessions, storytelling and crafts and follow up with a showing of our favourite kids programme relaxing on our beanbags.

 

Time: 1.30pm (9.30 6th & 13th July)

When: Every Thursday

Price: £1.50 per child

Marine Explorers Club

Designed to spark an interest in our marine environment and provide an exciting learning experience, our Marine Explorers kids club introduces children aged 8-13 to marine bioscience through fun games and activities.

 

Marine Explorers takes place on the last Saturday of every month from 10:30am to 12noon (unless otherwise stated).

Past Events

The Great Easter Egg (Case) Hunt

Visit the aquarium and hunt for the weird and wonderful eggs made by sea creatures at the Mull Aquarium. With plenty of fun facts and prizes to we won, it's fun for the whole family and you get to take home your eggcase ID sheet.

Professor Vodnik's Aquarium of Horrors

On the scariest night of the year we invite you Professor Vodnik’s lab of mutant creatures. But could it all go horribly wrong? Party games to follow each session. Unaccompanied children will be fed to the creatures...

 

Time: under 7's 5.30pm, over 7's 7pm

When: Saturday 29st October
Cost: £2.50 per person

End of Season Release Party

As the season draws to an end, it’s time for the last of our sea creatures to be released back into the wild. Be sure to BYOB (bring your own bucket) so you can pick your favourite sea creature and release it yourself! Followed by refreshments.

The Big Draw

 Join us for a week of free sessions to build a 3D deep sea hydrothermal STEAM vent as part of the 2016 big draw festival.

A Night for the BIG KIDS: The Life Aquatic 

Mull Film Club and Mull Aquarium are joining forces. For one night only we are bringing the BIG kids after-hours entertainment at the Aquarium. With tasty treats and boozy tipples, touch pools (without the kids and a hilarious film, it is set to be a fantastic night.

 

Time: 7.30 - 10.00pm

When: Tuesday 25th October 2016

Cost: £12 per person
