Ocean Discovery Days 2018

Children will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in our aquarium world through a combination of hands on indoor and outdoor activities, scientific exploration, and even behind the scenes adventures. These marine themed education discovery days are packed full of fun activities and hands on learning for children age 7+.

 

Tuesday 10th July - Fantastic Fossils

 

Come and discover who used to live in our local oceans. 
Dig for fossil eggs and even make your own with a hidden creature inside! Get hands on with real Jurassic fossils, learn how they are formed before preparing your own fossil to take home.

Time: 1.30pm-4pm

 

 

Tuesday 17th July - Legends of the Deep

  

Come and investigate the amazing sea creatures that inspired many of the myths and legends of the deep. Design your own sea monster and tell your legend through stop motion animation. 

Time: 1.30pm-4pm

 

 

Tuesday 24th July - Terrific Teeth

  

Join the aquarium team for an afternoon full of terrifyingly terrific teeth. You will discover all the amazing species of shark living in our waters and even get the chance to make your own shark teeth.  

Time: 1.30pm-4pm

 

Tuesday 31st July - Microscopic Monsters

   
Join us for the afternoon as we explore a world of microscopic monsters, delving into the depths to discover the amazing tiny animals that support our world’s oceans! 
Come along and make your own plankton net, catch some plankton and examine it under the microscope. 

 

Friday 10th August - Under the Waterfall

 

 

Cost: £35 full day, £15 afternoon

Where: Mull Aquarium

Time: Full day 10.00am - 4.00pm (before and after child care available by prior arrangement). Afternoon 1.30pm - 4.00pm

What to bring: Please bring pack lunch, drinks and snacks for the day. Wear old clothing you don't mind getting mucky and bring wet weather gear and wellys if you have them.

 

Registration and medical forms will need to be filled in prior to the session. Our qualified aquarium team have many years experience working with children in environmental education and are first aid trained. Please contact us if you have any further questions or for further information.
