Ocean Discovery Days 2018

Children will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in our aquarium world through a combination of hands on indoor and outdoor activities, scientific exploration, and even behind the scenes adventures. These marine themed education discovery days are packed full of fun activities and hands on learning for children age 7+.

 

 

 

Friday 10th August - Under the Waterfall

 

Mull aquariums first freshwater adventure! Join us for a spot of stream dipping, mini-beast hunting, and learning outdoors. Take a walk on the wildside, find out whats in our local streams, rivers and lochs.

 

Tuesday 14th August - Junior Aquarist

 

Join us for an aftermnoon at Mull Aquarium, and discover what it takes to be a aquarist. You will learn how to care for all of our marine species and help out with the day-to-day jobs behind the scenes. You will help us release some of our creatures as part of our catch and release program as well as collect new ones, using you identification skills to find them a suitable home before feeding time.

 

Friday 24th August - Super Seabirds

 

Come along and discover the amazing world of our super seabirds! We will investigate the different habitats and migration routes, finding our way around the cliff faces, rocky shores, and grassy burrows of some of our favourite seabirds.

 

Thursday 30th August - International Whale Shark Day

 

Celebrate International Whale Shark Day at the Mull Aquarium through whale shark themed activities and games.  Explore the amazing life of these gentle giants - take a closer look at the obsticles that they face in an afternoon full of fun!

 

 

 

 

Cost: £35 full day, £15 afternoon

Where: Mull Aquarium

Time: Full day 10.00am - 4.00pm (before and after child care available by prior arrangement). Afternoon 1.30pm - 4.00pm

What to bring: Please bring pack lunch, drinks and snacks for the day. Wear old clothing you don't mind getting mucky and bring wet weather gear and wellys if you have them.

 

Registration and medical forms will need to be filled in prior to the session. Our qualified aquarium team have many years experience working with children in environmental education and are first aid trained. Please contact us if you have any further questions or for further information.
